Vernon Carter

Vernon is the son of Harris and Beryl Carter and was born and raised East of the Cooper on Isle of Palms S.C.  He’s enjoyed working with my hands since he was very young.  Today he restores furniture, but whether it’s working on a boat, an engine, a vintage truck, a tractor, or creating a sculpture of metal scrap, he simply finds working with his hands to be a worthwhile ambition.

His father passed on a wealth of business and woodwork experience to him. His passion for work done to the highest standard of excellence shapes his work ethic and that of the entire Chehaw Team.  After a lifetime of furniture appreciation, he enjoys sharing this understanding with our customers.

He wants Chehaw to continue to provide the community with furniture restoration services that beautify the present and preserve the past. Our team is here for the practical repair of your household’s furnishings and the preservation of the personal story your furniture represents for you and those you love.
